Apple announced the release of the new iPhone 17e on Monday, March 2. The more pocketbook-friendly version of the iPhone 17 – launched in September 2025 – includes 256 gigabytes of storage, Apple’s new A19 chip, a 48-megapixel Fusion camera and MagSafe wireless charging via USB-C, according to Apple. In many ways, the new smartphone is similar to the iPhone 16e, the last budget-friendly iPhone release.
In addition to the iPhone 17e, Apple announced the release of the iPad Air on March 2. The thinner iPad features M4 processing and starts at $599 for an 11-inch model and $799 for a 13-inch model, according to an Apple news release.

When is the iPhone 17e available?
The new iPhone 17e is available for pre-order at 9:15 a.m. ET on Wednesday, March 4, and in stores on Wednesday, March 11.
